What is the price per session and are your services covered by insurance
Each 50-minute virtual or in-person session is priced at $135.
Counselling and psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health insurance providers and/or employee benefit plans partially or fully-reimburse session costs. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm if they cover/reimburse counselling and psychotherapy services by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
Direct billing to your insurance provider is not currently offered, but once payment for services have been received, a receipt for the psychotherapy services will be provided via email.
What can I expect in my first session?
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and determine how we may best work together. We’ll review what brought you to therapy, including any specific goals you’d like to set, discuss a personalized psychotherapeutic approach that may best suit your needs, and go over any questions you may have.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of psychotherapy sessions is something that varies depending on each individual’s goals and needs. Some clients may benefit from a few sessions, while others may prefer and engage in longer-term psychotherapy.
Is what I share in our sessions confidential?
Confidentiality (i.e., what we discuss in our sessions is private and will not be shared without your consent) is a fundamental aspect of the psychotherapy profession and psychotherapeutic relationship. Beyond certain limits/exceptions to confidentiality, everything you share in your sessions is confidential.
As per the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), client information is kept strictly confidential, except when the client gives consent or when required by law. This includes situations such as to prevent a significant risk of serious harm to a person (i.e., self or another), where a mandatory report is required, where disclosure is required for a legal proceeding, etc.
Also, if you have any additional questions regarding confidentiality, we can discuss them together during our consultation call and/or session.
